Trainees who wish to start their Yogic Studies and Teacher Training program at Longwave Yoga often times continue their development by participating in the Longwave Yoga Apprenticeship Program and taking the 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training. This method has proven to be a thorough and transformative experience for many of our students and current teachers. To complete a Yoga Alliance accredited 500-hour certification you will choose the Longwave Yoga 200 hour program that fits your schedule and follow it with a 12-week apprenticeship with one of our senior teachers. After this period of study you will then enroll in the following 300 hour program. Due to the nature of these programs this process can take between 2.5 years and 3.5 years. True experience and knowledge takes time and this path is for dedicated yogis with aspirations to teach deeply rooted practices born from real experience. We are happy to help accommodate varied timing if the particular student feels it is necessary to beak between programs.
Did you complete your 200 YTT from another yoga school? No problem. The 500-hour track is still available to you. Please click HERE to fill out the apprenticeship application and schedule an interview.
This is a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with a highly experienced senior Longwave Yoga teacher in a live yoga studio and class setting. Due to the amount of time and attention our senior staff invests in this program , it has limited availability and is highly selective. This program includes assignments and discussions about teaching yoga from a theoretical viewpoint, but you will have the opportunity to see teaching theories applied and apply them yourself in a class setting. The attentive and personalized nature of this program allows for your individual strengths and areas of growth to be supported and focused upon. You will also be able to observe other classes offered outside of vinyasa yoga. This program is designed to develop and refine practical teaching skills while guiding self-study and learning class preparation. This apprenticeship program enhances a yoga teacher's professional skills as well as deepens the connection to the inner guru for your own personal journey.

Is having liability insurance required even if I don't teach anywhere else?
Yes. You must have Current teachers liability insurance listing Longwave Yoga as an “additional insured" (this is not an extra cost). You will need to provide proof of this insurance to the Program's Director at Longwave Yoga. Keep a duplicate copy of this insurance document for your file. Questions about this professional liability insurance can be directed to the Program's Director or your prospective Mentor.
Do I need my CPR certification to begin the program?
No. If your program begins fairly soon after application, you must have it before the program ends, and you can not teach any public classes at Longwave Yoga until you have it. Longwave Yoga offers these courses throughout the year. Please ask the Program's Director for more details about the courses offered at Longwave Yoga.
I am not registered with Yoga Alliance. Can I still do the Apprenticeship Program?
Yes, you can participate in the paid Apprenticeship Program only. We do require you to be a graduate of a 200-hour program that is registered with Yoga Alliance, unless you undergo an interview and your program qualifications are approved. If you have chosen not to register with Yoga Alliance, you may still participate in the program, but you cannot teach any public classes at Longwave Yoga. If you would like to complete a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program that is registered with Yoga Alliance, you can find more info HERE
I am interested in learning more about all aspects of yoga and yoga teaching, do you have a longer apprenticeship than 12 weeks that will cover more in depth information?
We do not offer longer apprenticeships than 12 weeks, and these programs refine and deepen the understanding of what is covered in a 200-hour teaching training while gaining practical experience of teaching. If you would like to learn more about the subtle body, anatomy, alignment, advanced art of assists, sequencology, Sanskrit, yogic scripture, chanting, and more, you should apply for our 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training. Find more information on that HERE
Are there payment plans available?
Yes. Payment plans are available, however, payment must be completed by the end of the program. Please contact Program's Director
for more information.
