    This ALL LEVELS Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a unique, full-spectrum approach to the art of living and embodying the flow of yoga created by yogini Shiva Rea. Experience the power of the five movements of prana underlying all of creation and the flow of yogasanas, bandhas, and pranayama. We’ll learn specific navigation methods within Prana Flow, an energetic approach to vinyasa that releases the “doing” of yoga and brings greater ease and vitality into the “being” of yoga as the liberating key to living flow. Class includes fluid Namaskars and a fully integrated Prana Flow yoga practice.

She is the founder and director of the The New Mexico School of Yoga, pioneering educational programming in yoga, ayurveda and the vedic sciences.   • SUP Yoga Teacher Training
  • Looking to extend your teaching outside of the studio? Learn to guide your students through the ultimate outdoor yoga-class experience... Standup Paddleboard Yoga!

    Longwave Yoga and Wrightsville SUP have partnered up to bring you a full-spectrum SUP Yoga training - geared towards offering yoga teachers the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively lead a yoga class on the water. This three-day, 25-hour CEU course covers use of SUP equipment, SUP basics and technique, water safety, how to monitor weather patterns and chart tides, and how to appropriately adapt and sequence yoga on a paddle board for everyone from beginner yogis to expert SUP athletes. Take your yoga class out of the studio and into nature for exciting new challenges & blissful surroundings.... This premier training is one you do not want to miss! Prerequisites: This training is open to all adventurous yogis with the ability to swim. However, you must be a 200-Hour RYT and CPR certified to receive certification once course is complete.

    The training takes place on the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington. We will meet and load the boards in at Wrightsville SUP which is located at 96 W. Salisbury Street, Wrightsville Beach, NC.

    Training includes but is not limited to SUP Yoga practices, lectures, water safety and rescue, group teaching, and partner teaching. There will not be official break times, but there will be opportunities to eat snacks and hydrate.

       - SUP Yoga Teacher Training Manual
       - All SUP and safety equipment
       - Use of equipment from WrightsvilleSUP or Longwave Yoga for personal use complimentary on the afternoons of the training.
       - Family members and friends of trainee can rent equipment at a discounted rate of $15/hour

    Applicants are not required to have any training and/or experience in Yoga or SUP. However, to receive a certificate and be granted 25 CEUs, applicant must be at least a 200-Hour RYT and be current in CPR certification.

    About the teachers: 

    Julie Pelikan, Growing up near the ocean, rivers, and lakes, her passion for water started at a young age. It has infused her daily life, whether it's a sunrise meditation at the beach or a long paddle in the coastal waterways, her love for the elements has created a foundation for her lifestyle. Being a certified yoga instructor, naturally Julie was excited to try a SUP Yoga class as another fun way to enjoy the great outdoors. After her first class Julie knew she must share this experience with others. Julie is a long-time resident of Wrightsville Beach and has extensive knowledge of the local waterways and weather patterns, as well as water safety and water rescue training. As the Senior SUP Yoga teacher for Longwave Yoga, Julie has apprenticed and co-facilitated the Longwave SUP Yoga Teacher Training Program since it's conception in 2014. Julie has ran countless adventures out on the water and has helped yogis discover the love of paddling, and paddlers discover a love for yoga. As Julie guides you not only on the water, but also through a yoga asana class on your floating yoga mat, expect to be challenged in the best of ways and be prepared to discover the true present moment within the elements.
     
    Jarrod Covington, owner and found of Wrightsville SUP was born in Beaufort, NC, Jarrod Covington has spent his life on the water. Although surfing and windsurfing were constants in that childhood, his interests quickly expanded to include kiteboarding, paddle boarding, fishing, and a great deal more.

    Covington graduated from UNC Wilmington with a degree in Finance, but ever loyal to the southeastern coast, he walked away from the corporate grind. Forecasting the potential for SUP growth in the area, he founded Wrightsville SUP in 2011. The business has thrived on Covington’s own dynamic and multi-faceted interests and now facilitates rentals and lessons in a variety of water sports and activities.
